Escape Studios and Framestore Immersive create cutting-edge degree
Escape Studios is thrilled to announce a new BA(Hons) / MArt Immersive Media degree for September 2027 entry*. Designed to nature the creative and technical skills, students will learn to design and create experiences for engaging spaces, such as festivals, museums, XR and branded events, themed attractions and more.
This cutting-edge course has been created with an impressive range of industry professionals, including members of the Immersive Team at Framestore – a world leading innovator and one of our longest standing studio partners - and Daniel Shutt, Escape Studios academic since 2009 and brings 32 years of industry experience across the visual effects and immersive sectors.
Notably, Daniel designed and built the off-world installation with Framestore for the Science Museum’s 2022-2023 Science Fiction: Voyage to the Edge of Imagination exhibition in London, and co-created the EEG driven installation Harmony 2.0 with Light Artist, Ela Hawes for the Observatory in association with CALM (pictured). Daniel has produced live visual content for various artists such as Pendulum, Iron Maiden, Way Out West and even produced content and VJ'd at events such as Glastonbury, Boomtown, Coachella and Noisily Festival.

"I'm really excited to help bring this course to life with our degree concept team. Bringing my past experience working in live events, gigs and installations to help create a course designed to give students the skills to work in one of the most exciting areas of the entertainment industry.
In the past twelve years the sector has seen massive growth with shows and installations needing an army of talented artisans at every step to realise ever growing ideas and concepts."
