Sarah Macdonald
Sarah joined us in February 2012 from BPP University College, where she was Deputy Dean of the Law School. She is on the curriculum and review committee of the Institute of Legal Professional Studies at Queen’s University Belfast, an institutional reviewer for the Quality Assurance Agency (QAA) and a member of the QAA’s advisory board for the Learning and Teaching Chapter of the QAA Quality Code. Sarah also spent over ten years as a member of the Joint Academic Stage Board (JASB), which regulates the academic stage of legal training in England and Wales. Before joining BPP, Sarah was Dean of the Law School at the Honourable Society of King’s Inns Dublin, the regulator and provider of training for the Bar in Ireland, for five years. Prior to that, she was Director of the Bar Vocational Course at the College of Law.
Sarah has directed a number of overseas legal training and training-the-trainer projects, working with the judiciary in Russia and Turkey, and with prosecutors, lawyers and legal educators in countries including Georgia, Pakistan, Ukraine and South America. She was also Director of the European Young Lawyers Scheme. Before her career in legal education, Sarah practised as a barrister and was a member of the Chambers of Rock Tansey QC (now 25 Bedford Row). She has a BA in English from University College London. Before becoming a lawyer, Sarah was an actress and TV presenter.
