Escapees recognised by Into Games 50 Awards

Several Escape Studios alumni (Escapees) have been recognised amongst this year’s Into Games 50 (IG50) winners. The IG50 is an annual award which celebrates 50 talented aspiring games professionals from underrepresented backgrounds who are looking for their first industry role. 

Escapee winners in 2025 are:  

• Sunny Asadi, MA 3D Animation Escapee - Animation and VFX Winner 

• Rafiul Alam, BA (Hons) The Art of Video Games Escapee - Animation and VFX Winner 

• Elizabeth Stott, BA (Hons) The Art of Video Games Escapee - Art Winner 

• Samuel Laverick, BA (Hons) The Art of Video Games Escapee - Art Winner  

• Myron Unzhakov, MA Game Art Escapee - Art Winner 

Winners were picked by a panel of industry professionals from close to 350 submissions. The chosen 50 received prizes including workshops and CV reviews with games professionals, press mentions and invites and subsidised travel to the Working Class in Games meetup at Develop: Brighton. 

Sunny shared some insight on the experience, saying: “Being an Into Games 50 Winner has meant the world to me, as it's shown that there are people in the industry doing what they can to diversify game dev. Being a part of IG50 meant I could attend Develop:Brighton, get my portfolio reviewed by world-class experts, and receive visibility and guidance where I needed it. And of course, none of this would have been possible without the vigorous training and support I underwent at Escape Studios!”

Myron also highlighted which opportunity he’s most looking forward to: “I’m really honoured to be named one of the winners of IG50 this year. It’s a great feeling to be recognised alongside so many talented people in the industry. I’m especially looking forward to the masterclasses hosted by experienced professionals.”

IG 50 is run by non-profit organisation Into Games and was sponsored in 2025 by Escape Studios industry partner, Playground Games.
