The UCAS equal consideration deadline, explained
Keep hearing universities and higher education providers talk about the UCAS equal consideration deadline and not sure how this applies to you? Here we explain what this key date means and why it’s important to apply in time.
What is the UCAS equal consideration deadline?
This is a deadline set by UCAS (the Universities and Colleges Admissions Service), and it means that all applications received by the specified date will be considered equally by all higher education institutions across the country, including Escape Studios.
The equal consideration deadline is Wednesday 14th January 2026 at 6:00PM GMT for undergraduate degrees starting in September 2026.
Why should you apply by the equal consideration deadline?
Once the equal consideration deadline has passed, a course can close if all the spaces have been filled. So, if there’s a course that you’d really like to study then it’s best to apply by the date mentioned above, otherwise there’s a chance you’ll miss out.
For international students, applying by this deadline means that you’ll get more time to plan your studies. There’s a lot of admin and organisation involved for students coming from overseas countries, so applying by this deadline ensures there’s plenty of time to map your move, secure finances, accommodation and other relevant things to ensure a smooth transition to the UK.
What do you need to complete your UCAS application?
In addition to personal and contact details, you’ll need to add your qualifications (including your predicted grades if you’re still studying), how you plan to fund your studies, and submit a personal statement.
Pro tips for international students:
- List your IELTS numbers (if you have this qualification) in the English Language section and as a qualification in the Education section.
- Make sure your card works for overseas payments (if you’re paying yourself) or the payment card of whoever is paying the fees.
Head to the UCAS website for a more detailed overview of the application form.
How to apply to Escape Studios?
All UK home applications must be submitted via UCAS. For international students, you can either apply via the UCAS website or submit your application directly to us via the apply now button at the top of the course pages.
