World VFX Day and Escape Studios announce 2024 partnership

Following the success of the 2023 World VFX Day Challenge, Escape Studios are thrilled to be announced as exclusive Education Partner for World VFX Day 2024, bringing the #EscapeToTheMoon challenge back to life.  

This year’s World VFX Day live stream will be kicking off on the 6^th December with World VFX Day taking place on the 8^th December 2024. World VFX Day celebrates the art, creativity and technological innovation that power the film, television and gaming industries.  

Visual effects (VFX) has long been the home of the unsung heroes behind inspiring magic witnessed on the silver screen and television. World VFX Day 2024 will be livestreamed from Japan, spreading the global reach further with participants joining from all over the world.  

On the day, a collective of visual effects studios, organisations and professionals gather online for talks, interviews, tutorials and giveaways.  

The partnership with World VFX Day aims to honour and showcase the incredible talent of visual effects students, professionals and those finding joy in creating visual effects shots.  

The 2024 World VFX Day Challenge is open to everyone and is aimed at shining a light on all thing's visual effects.  

The rules for the #EscapeToTheMoon2024 challenge are outlined as follows: 

• Be as creative as you like with the theme 

• Japanese inspired work is more than welcome 

• Anyone can enter 

• Submission can be from any specialism 

• Moving image: limit of 10 seconds 

• Still images: maximum 10 images 

• One entry per person 

• Submissions to be sent via the submissions form and uploaded to social media using the themed hashtag #EscapeToTheMoon2024 

• You will have until 11:59pm BST on 30^th September 2024 to create and submit your art 

• Winners will be presented on the live stream on World VFX Day  

• Prizes and more announcements to follow..
