Preventing and dealing with inappropriate behaviour, harassment and sexual misconduct

One of our key principles is community, and to be a successful community means treating each member equally and in a fair, inclusive and welcoming way. This means that we will not tolerate behaviours that go against this, such as:

  • Bullying
  • Harassment
  • Discrimination
  • Sexual misconduct

Behaviours that result in these kinds of outcomes or are perceived by others to be offensive or unacceptable will not be tolerated.

To prevent this and to deal with any incidents in these or similar categories, we have the following policies and procedures:

Support

Besides the policies and procedures that are in place, if any student is affected by issues discussed above they may need support for their mental health in the short and longer term. For this purpose we provide a number of ways of accessing additional help as described on our Wellbeing webpage. For mental health support and counselling we are partnered with Spectrum.Life, who offer a 24/7 confidential service from mental health professionals. More details of this service can be found here.

If there is an emergency situation or one that has risk of serious harm to anyone, please contact the emergency services on 999.
