Escape Studios shortlisted in 2022 TIGA Awards for second successive year

Escape Studios has been announced as a finalist in the TIGA Games Industry Awards 2022 for Best Educational Institution, in recognition of its student success, industry collaboration and innovative teaching.

TIGA is the trade association for the UK video games industry, with the vision to make the UK the best place in the world to develop video games. Their annual Industry Awards attract hundreds of entries from all over the world, showcasing excellence in games development, service providers and education.

Escape Studios is a member of TIGA and is aligned with its links to industry – its Game Art courses are designed to teach students in the latest workflows and industry practices, while their industry mentored group projects prepare students for working in teams with the latest software such as Unreal Engine, Maya and Substance. Courses are developed with global industry partners including PlayStation London Studio, Creative Assembly and Climax, who regularly visit the campus and partake in events. Additionally, a close partnership with Epic Games means students are based at one of the UK’s only Unreal Authorized Training Center.

Simon Fenton, Dean/Director of Interactive and Real Time, at Escape Studios, said: “We’re thrilled to be shortlisted once again for this fantastic award, alongside some of the UK’s leading institutions that specialise in video games. This is testament to the staff and students at Escape Studios, as well as our successful graduates, who are contributing to the growth of our wonderful industry.”

Dr Richard Wilson OBE, TIGA CEO, said: “We have had a fantastic response from industry and education to the return of the TIGA Games Industry Awards as a live event. Congratulations to all of our Finalists. We look forward to welcoming everyone to the awards ceremony in November.”

Winners will be announced at the TIGA Awards ceremony on Thursday 10th November at Church House Westminster in London.
