Thanks for booking your spot at one of our open events. You don’t need to sign up for any individual sessions, you’re free to explore the event at your own pace. Depending on whether you’ve signed up for a face-to-face or online event, you’ll have access to a variety of activities throughout the day.

EXPLORE OUR STUDIOS
If you’re attending in person, you’ll have the chance to make the most of our studio tours taking place throughout the day. Our classrooms are fitted out with some impressive tech and have incredible views of London's Design District, the River Thames and of course the O2!

Whether you’re joining us online or in person, our Admissions Team will discuss undergraduate admissions, from the start of your application journey until you enrol.
The talk will cover entry requirements, student finance and portfolio submissions.
PORTFOLIO TOP TIPS
If you’re attending in person, you’ll have the opportunity to meet our 3D Animation Tutor who will be available to offer guidance on what to include in your portfolio. You'll also receive a printed copy of our undergraduate portfolio guide!

ALUMNI JOINING OCTOBER'S OPEN DAY
At our on-campus open day taking place on 24th October, you’ll have the chance to meet alumnus Michael Neocleous, a Senior Environment Artist at Lighthouse Games, who’ll be joining us to share insights into his career in games, life after Escape Studios, and working in environment art.
You’ll also have the chance to meet alumnus Matt Ward, a Lighting Artist at Playground Games, who’ll be joining us to share his journey from Escape Studios to working on Fable, and offer insights into building a career in lighting art.
Callum Wylie will also be joining us, a 3D Animator and Previs/Postvis Animator who has worked with leading studios including Framestore, MPC and Blue Zoo, with credits on Mufasa: The Lion King.
TUTORS ATTENDING ON 24TH OCTOBER
Our tutors will also be on hand at our open days. To learn more about our courses in Animation, Games, VFX, Concept Art, and Motion Graphics, you can ask them your questions and get insights from their industry experience.
- Marc Stevenson, Programme Leader for 3D Animation, with over 10 years of experience as an animator in the VFX industry, working across film, advertising and previsualisation.
- Kevin Richards, 3D animation tutor, who brings experience in animation and visual effects to help students develop their creative and technical skills.
- Lorenzo Maniccia, 2D VFX Tutor and experienced VFX artist specialising in compositing and matte painting.
- Rebecca Perrone, 2D Animation Tutor, whose screen credits include Mog’s Christmas and Love, Death and Robots, where she worked as a lead animator.
- Omar Zohdi, Programming Tutor, has over a decade of experience in technology, having worked with companies including Unity, The Linux Foundation and more.
- Max Fitzgerald, Game Art Tutor, with several years in industry at studios including Motorsport Games and XR Games.
TUTORS ATTENDING ON 28TH OCTOBER
- Professor Ian Palmer, Principal of Escape Studios, with extensive experience developing programmes in digital media, games, animation and visual effects, and a background in computer graphics, VR and games research.
- Simon Fenton, Deputy Principal, with over 30 years of industry experience and a background in game development, including senior roles at Sony Computer Entertainment Europe.
- Alex Williams, Dean/Director of Animation and Visual Effects, with over 40 years’ industry experience. His credits include The Lion King, Robots, The Iron Giant and Who Framed Roger Rabbit.

TRAVEL BURSARIES
UK-based prospective undergraduate students can now claim up to £50 back on travel costs after attending our September, October or November undergraduate on campus open days. Students who meet additional eligibility criteria, such as receiving free school meals, having care experience, a disability, caring responsibilities, experiencing estrangement, or living in a low-participation postcode area, may be eligible to claim up to £75.

We know that for some, the cost of attending our events might be a concern. Bursaries of up to £75 can be awarded to eligible students to help reduce the cost of travelling to open days.

Frequently asked questions
Can I bring guests?
You can bring up to two people with you. When booking, you should have the option to select the amount of guests. If you didn't select any but would like to bring someone with you, please send us an email - our team will be able to let you know if there's capacity.
What do I need to bring to check in?
Our team at reception will be ready to sign you in when you arrive. All you need is:
- Your first and last name
- The email address you used to make the booking
- Want some friendly advice on your portfolio? Bring your work along and head to our portfolio station for guidance.
Is the open day online or in person?
The format depends on the event. Some open days are held on campus, while others are online. Not sure? Check our website, your event booking, or reach out!
I can’t see my open day booking
If you can’t see your booking confirmation or reminders, it may be because you have opted out of emails and/or text messages. In this case, we won’t be able to send you event updates or reminders. If you’re unsure, please reach out to us via email, live chat or phone, and we’ll confirm your booking that way.
How do I cancel or change my booking?
If you need to cancel or amend your booking, please get in touch with our team at hello@escapestudios.ac.uk or use our live chat on the website. We’ll help update your booking for you.
What can I do in the area while I wait?
Our campus is located right next to the O2, which has a range of eateries, discount clothing and accessory shops. If you're not one to shop, there's plenty of cafes in the Design District, as well as a canteen only a minute away from campus.
