Test drive the Escape experience

Taster days give you the opportunity to take your seat in the studio and complete an interactive project of your choice, all adapted from what we teach on our undergraduate degree programmes.

What can I do at a taster day?
You can choose one of the following sessions.

  • Build your own minigame
  • Live action shot building with animation and VFX
  • Design, draw and animate your art
Note: we have studio space for prospective students only at our tasters. If you are a parent/carer, open days are a great option for you to visit.

What will I do in my taster session?

When you arrive, we will provide a short welcome talk before you head into the studios and get stuck into your session. There will also be a short break halfway through the session.

When you book your place, you can select your preferred session for the taster day. The sessions are currently split as follows (subject to change dependent on tutor availability).

Design, draw and animate your art

This session is most appropriate for students interested in studying:

  • 2D Animation
  • Concept Art and Experience Design
  • Comics and Visual Storytelling

Build your own minigame

This session is most appropriate for students interested in studying:

  • Game Art
  • Game Design
  • Technical Art

Complete a live action shot with animation and VFX

This session is most appropriate for students interested in studying:

  • 3D Animation
  • VFX
  • Motion Graphics
  • Immersive Media

If you prefer to try a different session to your original booking, please let us know as soon as possible. It may not be possible to switch on the day as some sessions do sell out.

Taster day FAQs
  • Who can attend?
    The content at our undergraduate taster day is for students aged 16 or over. We only have space for prospective students in the studios. If you are a parent/carer, our undergraduate open days are a great option for you to visit.
  • When will the next taster day be?
    Here are our taster day dates for 2026:
    • Saturday 16th May
    • Wednesday 8th July
    • Saturday 17th October
    • Saturday 5th December
    Tickets for each event will be released around 6-8 weeks ahead of the event date. If your preferred date is not yet open for booking, sign up for updates.
Before booking your ticket
  • Spaces are limited in our studios. Please book early to avoid disappointment and cancel your booking if you can't make it, so someone else can use the slot.
  • Please let us know at hello@escapestudios.ac.uk if you require any support or physical adjustments in order to access our studios, no later than five working days before the activity. We will make reasonable adjustments where possible.
  • Please aim to arrive around 15 minutes before the start to allow time for check in.
  • Our studios are on the 6th, 10th and 11th floors, so you will need to be comfortable using a lift.
  • For eligible undergraduate applicants, we offer a travel expense bursary to reimburse travel costs of up to £75 to attend open days, applicant days and taster days.
