Escape Studios shortlisted for Specialist Institution of the Year

Escape Studios has been shortlisted for Specialist Institution of the Year at the prestigious Times Higher Education (THE) Awards 2026, one of the most respected and widely recognised awards programmes in UK higher education.
Now in its 22nd year, the THE Awards celebrate outstanding achievement across higher education, shining a spotlight on exceptional work taking place across the sector. The Specialist Institution of the Year category recognises providers that demonstrate exceptional impact, innovation and sector leadership through a distinctive mission and educational offering.
Professor Ian Palmer, Principal of Escape Studios, shares:
"We're delighted to be shortlisted for 'Specialist Institution of the Year' in the Times Higher Education Awards. We pride ourselves on staying at the forefront of the fast-moving Creative Industries sector, and this nomination is a testament to our ability to do that.
Established in 2002, we were built by industry, for industry, shaping a portfolio of degrees and short courses delivered in a dynamic, studio-based environment in London. Nearly 25 years on, we remain true to our original mission: bridging the gap between education and industry, and we're so proud to be recognised for this work.
We're incredibly grateful for the continued support of our industry partners, as well as the amazing talent and hard work of our students, tutors and alumni. We are honoured to be in the running for this prestigious award."
Widely recognised as the 'Oscars of Higher Education', the winners will be announced at the awards ceremony in Birmingham on Thursday 26th November 2026.
