Four VFX Escapees Join One of Us

We’re pleased to share that not one, but four Escapees have started contracts with leading Visual Effects (VFX) studio One of Us in April 2026. After being approached by the studio regarding an upcoming project, our VFX department recommended a number of recent VFX graduates for interviews, resulting in Hamid Lofti, Amber Coventry, Michael Shaw and Daniel Beeching being hired in Roto/Prep Artist roles. One of Us is a multi-award-winning, international VFX studio with notable projects including work on popular series such as The Witcher, Black Mirror and the Mission Impossible film franchise.

Hamid, an MA Visual Effects (Compositing) graduate, shared,

“I received this opportunity after Klaudija Cermak, my Tutor at Escape Studios recommended me to One of Us for a Roto Prep Artist position.

It has been a great environment to work in, and my Supervisors have been extremely supportive and approachable, always encouraging me to ask questions and better understand the workflow. One of my main challenges has been learning the terminology used throughout the pipeline, as well as developing the ability to properly quality check my own work before submitting it for review.

Every day, I’m learning new skills and gaining valuable industry experience.”

Additionally, other VFX cohort hires in the same month include our students finding roles at Untold Studios, and Escape Studios industry partners Milk VFX and BlueBolt. VFX Tutor and Programme Leader Klaudija Cermak offered her congratulations to the Escapees, saying:

“Well done to seven of our Compositing students getting jobs this month. At Escape we pride ourselves in arming students with skills they need to enter and thrive in the industry.”
