WHY ESCAPE STUDIOS
Escape Studios is the UK's leading specialist school for animation, games and VFX training. Established in 2002, we were built by industry for industry - shaping a portfolio of undergraduate degrees, postgraduate masters and short courses, all delivered in a dynamic studio-based environment in London.
Almost 25 years on, we’re proud to have more than 50 long-standing and meaningful industry partnerships with studios including Industrial Light & Magic, Framestore, DNEG Animation, Creative Assembly, Playground Games, ETC and Blue Zoo. Together, we create continuous opportunities every year for our students to network, learn and be inspired - ready to enter the creative industries with confidence.
Our world-class graduate outcomes speak for themselves, with 90% of our graduates in work or further study (HESA data released 2025). Our global community of over 4,000 Escapees contribute to major productions across film, TV, games and immersive experiences, with recognition throughout the 2026 awards season.
At the Oscars, we had Escapees work on every film nominated for the Academy Award for Best Visual Effects - Avatar: Fire and Ash, F1, Jurassic World Rebirth, The Last Bus and Sinners. For games, Escapees were credited on multiple titles nominated at the BAFTA Games Awards - Dune: Awakening, Helldivers 2, The Last of Us Part II, Battlefield 6 and Death Stranding 2: On the Beach.

Student work success
Our tutors encourage students to submit their short films and projects for international festivals and awards. They’ve won and been nominated for hundreds of awards, including undergraduate Animation and VFX short Jerich0 being shortlisted for The Student BAFTA Awards and winning “Film of the Year” in VFX from The Rookies.
Award-winning Escapees
Over 4,000 alumni (dubbed 'Escapees') started their careers with us, honing their skills here before moving on to great success within the industry. They form a strong network of passionate creative minds, which any student who joins us instantly becomes a part of.
They’ve worked on award-winning TV series such as Stranger Things and Obi-Wan Kenobi, along with Oscar and BAFTA-winning films such as Dune, No Time to Die, 1917, Interstellar, Star Wars, Ex Machina, and bestselling games Assassin’s Creed, Uncharted 2 and Forza Horizon.

At our Escape Studios annual End of Year Student Showcase, final year students present their impressive projects to industry professionals from top studios like Ubisoft, Bluebolt and more! The networking opportunities from this event help build valuable connections for jobs and summer internships.

Meet our industry-experienced tutors
They all have industry experience and are experts in their fields, including certified trainers for Unreal Engine, Autodesk and Houdini. They've worked at studios such as Walt Disney, EA and Framestore, on credits including Doctor Strange, Kingsman and Bond: Spectre.
Studio Partners
Our industry partners are central to the way we’re run. From the curriculum we teach and how it’s delivered, to our webinars and special events, scholarships and feedback given on our students’ work.
Course development
Our partners help design, develop and deliver our courses. They take part in our Degree Concept Teams, form our Advisory Board and participate in the delivery as guest speakers and assessors. It means we only teach the techniques, skills and software that are relevant and needed in the industry, working with studios to fill their production pipelines with studio-ready artists.
London location
Based in London, we’re close to some of the biggest studios in the world, including a number of our industry partners like Framestore (Avengers: Endgame) and Industrial Light & Magic (Star Wars).
Our campus is located in the heart of London's Design District on the Greenwich Peninsula, with amazing views of Thames and Canary Wharf.
