Escape Studios opens doors to aspiring creatives from around the globe

Escape Studios, one of the UK’s leading animation, games and VFX schools has received its UKVI licence and is soon to welcome aspiring talent and creatives from around the globe. Receiving the UKVI licence allows the institution to sponsor international students to join programmes on a student visa. This expansion marks a significant milestone in Escape Studios commitment to fostering a diverse and inclusive learning community while providing a world-class education. 

Recognised for its industry-focused curriculum and industry connections, Escape Studios has long been a beacon for international talent. In fact, in 2023, 1 in 6 students at Escape Studios were international passport holders, representing over 30 different nationalities.  

Dr Ian Palmer, Principal of Escape Studios says, “We are delighted to open our doors to international applicants for our undergraduate and postgraduate degrees. For over twenty years, we have been at the forefront of education for the creative industries, growing our original offer of highly focussed education and training for VFX studios into games, animation and motion graphics. Over that time, we have helped thousands of students join the global creative industries and now that we can accept international applicants, we look forward to our Escape community being even more rich and diverse as a result and can’t wait to welcome our next generation of future Escapees.” 

Escape Studios offers a variety of degrees and courses to equip talent with the skills and knowledge needed to thrive in today’s dynamic creative industries. From Animation, Games, Visual Effects, Concept Art and Motion Graphics, students have the opportunity to explore their passions and, master their craft under the guidance of industry experienced tutors and with support from leading industry partners including Industrial Light & Magic, Framestore, The Mill, DNEG, Milk VFX, Creative Assembly, State of Play, Cinesite, Blue Zoo and MPC.

While undergraduate applicants for September 2024 can send their application to admissions@escapestudios.ac.uk, postgraduate applicants are asked to submit their application directly via the Escape Studios website, using the online application form provided.  

An undergraduate portfolio as well as good high school grades are needed for a successful application for undergraduate applicants, postgraduate applicants will need to provide a postgraduate portfolio as well as an undergraduate degree in a relevant subject or significant professional experience.  

For a successful application, each applicant is required to have a minimum English score of IELTS 6.0.
